Sweet Surrender

There is no celebration on earth that is worth actually celebrating than the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ, the pure and spotless Lamb was slaughtered, so that we may live in Him! We are His DAILY living sacrifices and we are not to be conformed to this world. IF we truly love God, we will obey Him, no matter what it costs us (John 14:15). We must sacrifice ourselves and our idols in our hearts so that it will be clear that we love God with all of our heart. No one can serve two masters. The truth is, if we are not ready to be criticized for our obedience to God, we are NOT ready to be used by God.

Tomorrow is my Birthday, but without Jesus Christ, I am absolutely nothing. The least I can do is give Him back my life, by repenting, believing and surrendering it ALL to Him. Our lives, our hearts, our minds, our futures, and every aspect of our life belongs to Him alone! We are saved by God's grace when we believe in Jesus and put our faith in Him, but biblical belief is more than something we confess with our mouths; it's something we confess with our lives! "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it" (Matt 16:25). For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them (Eph 2:10). He must increase, I must decrease (John 3:30) May His will be done through me!

Idolatry

Something is definitely wrong when you love your spouse and children more than God. How do you love them more than Him? They are all you talk about online and to others; you treasure every single moment with your family (your MANY photo albums prove it). Your spouse and children are GIFTS from His mercy and grace. Unlike your husband or wife, only God can spiritually restore, heal and make you whole!

When was the last time you thought about Jesus Christ with joy and gratitude? When was the last time you shared about Him with your coworkers and colleagues? When was the last time you spent time with God alone and how often do you do it? Don't you know that God is a jealous God (Deuteronomy 6:15)? There's nothing wrong with loving others, but we must not love anyone above God, because that becomes IDOLATRY. "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment" (Mark 12:30).

Matthew 10:37
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

James 4:8-10
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

"So then because thou art lukewarm, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

So many people are deceived into believing that because they prayed a prayer one time in their life, they are going to heaven. You assure yourself by telling yourself that you are fine, because you compare yourself to other lukewarm "Christians." You love the world so much, you talk, act and dress like the world, you love the music of the world and yet, you call yourself a Christian, because at one time, you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart, and you will not find this in any place in Scripture! A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them (Matt 7:18-20).

Salvation is by faith alone, and faith alone in Jesus Christ, and faith alone in Jesus Christ is preceded and followed by repentance! A turning away from sin! A hatred for the things that God hates, and a love for the things God loves! A growing in holiness, and a desire not to be like the world, and not to be like the great majority of American Christians, but to be like Jesus Christ! Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matt 7:13-14).

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matt 7:21-23).

"Lord, Lord!"

Most of us passionately revolve our lives around our hobbies, careers, and events, and especially church events, but where is JESUS CHRIST?? You have removed Him from the alter you have built in your heart, and replaced with something else. You have done a great job in making yourself appear "godly", and "righteous," to others, but the truth is, you don't really know Jesus, who you claim to love. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim 3:5-7). For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

People who continue to reject His truth, God will allow them to remain in their prideful state. "This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing" (Jeremiah 13:10). Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world (1 John 4:1). We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error (1 John 4:6). No one can serve two masters! WE MUST COMPLETELY SURRENDER TO GOD AND HIS PERFECT WILL.

Self-righteousness

Many say that they "love" the truth, yet when it is presented to them, and it is something that is inconvenient, or makes them feel "uncomfortable," they reject it, and lean unto their own understanding. If you are deceived, it is because you choose to be! God will send many warnings, and yes, He may even use your OWN children (humility check!), but if people continue to reject His truth, God will allow them to remain in their prideful state. "This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this loincloth, which is good for nothing" (Jeremiah 13:10). The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice (Proverbs 12:15). Self righteousness = pride. Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). It is URGENT that we get right with God! This is not a game, it's a serious matter of life and death! No one can serve two masters!

If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain (1 Tim 6:3-5).

Mature in Christ

Every infant is born and grows up. Likewise, everyone born in the Spirit grows and matures in Christ. New believers crave spiritual milk like newborn babies, so that they may grow in their salvation (1 Pet 2:2-3). Milk is like pre-digested truth, easier to swallow whole, but meat requires the development of teeth and the action of chewing. So, what happens to Christians who keep gravitating towards milk long after they should be shifting over to the meat?? ---> They are slow to learn deeper truths (Heb 5:11-12), there is inability to articulate their faith (Heb 5:11-12), worldly behavior (1 Cor 3:3), inability to self feed (2 Tim 2:15), and inability to discern between good and bad (Heb 5:13-14). Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness! But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Are you still sipping on spiritual milk when you should be on solids? Are we constantly examining ourselves and our motives for the things we say and do??

"Milk, not a reference to certain doctrines, but to the more easily digestible truths of doctrine that were given to new believers. Solid food, the deeper features of the doctrines of scripture. The difference is not in kind of truth, but degree of depth. Spiritual immaturity makes one unable to receive the richest truths." -John MacArthur

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:1-2).

And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men (1 Corinthians 3:1-3)?

Thy will be done

John answered, "A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven (John 3:27). God's people, ought not to be lazy. However, they should be in total surrender to the will of God. When God gives command; they do so. When God gives and okay, they do so. We don't just JUMP the GUN and pursue our own perception of what we think is God's will. Jesus is LORD. He is Master. That is what "Lord" means. He ought to be, the influence of every thought, every word, every judgment, and every decision we make. He should consume us. Why do God's people do what they do? Why do they say what they do? Because Christ shed His blood for their soul.

There are people, whom God has called to wait. We are to be still and know that He is GOD. (Ps 46:10). You must understand that GOD's will is going to come to pass. God is sovereign. There is nothing that has happened, is happening, or will happen that God is not in control of. It is God's desire that we work, however He opens the door! He provides the task, He leads the way, by the leading of the Holy Spirit. From where does each heart beat come from? It comes from God. From where does your ability to move come from? It comes from God! So all of these people who have plans: YOUR HEART WON'T BEAT. YOU CAN'T EVEN MOVE APART FROM THE POWER OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE. Let us remain with a recognition of weakness: "Thy will be done."
